About

Who We Are

DFS Oskaloosa, LLC is a full-service custom feed mill and grain elevator located in Oskaloosa, Iowa.  We have a long history in Oskaloosa and surrounding communities that continues to expand, dating back over 100 years.   Starting in 1916 as White-Wake Feed Mill, transitioning to JH Wake Feed Mill, and growing through the 1900's to include many local feed stores in the area and expanding grain operations.  In 1965, Wake's built our first concrete slipform silo, beginning what was long known as Quad County Grain, Inc southeast of Oskaloosa.  This facility grew further in later from 1968 through the 2000's under Wake's ownership.   This growth included additional grain storage throughout the years, and the addition of a Younglove Slipform feed mill in 1997, operated as Nutri-Tech Feeds, LLC.

In 2012, after a rich history of serving the agriculture industry in the region, the Wake family retired from the business, and DFS Inc. acquired the operations of Quad County Grain, Inc. and Nutri-Tech Feeds, LLC.  At that time, the Oskaloosa facility was renamed to DFS Oskaloosa, LLC.  Shortly after the DFS transition, DFS Oskaloosa, LLC added a second pelleting line and expanded its reach with new customers, greater capability, and a lead with a strong team poised for a greater reach in the area.  The DFS Inc. ownership brought with it an advancement not only in physical capabilities, but feed safety enhancements, obtaining an ISO-22000 certification for the DFS Oskaloosa facility that helped drive DFS forward in compliance with FSMA.

In 2018, DFS Inc. ownership announced retirement, inviting the acquisition from Easy Bio, Inc. (now Easy Holdings Ltd.) to DFS Oskaloosa.  The Easy Holdings family of businesses welcomed DFS Oskaloosa, LLC into their portfolio in December of 2018, adding nutritional expertise, ambitious growth plans, and worldwide feed knowledge to the group.  The DFS Oskaloosa facility adds over 375,000 tons of feed production to Easy Holdings’ feed production, bringing total company feed tonnage to over 2 million tons per year.  DFS operates 5 to 6 days a week, 24 hours a day, manufacturing complete meal and pelleted feed for swine and poultry.  DFS operates its own quality testing lab, and monitors quality to best-in-class performance for livestock producers.

Expansion Continues! We keep growing.  In 2020 we added 400,000 bushels of grain storage and a new state-of-the art grain unloading and handling facility designed to speed up grain producer's unloading time on site, providing continued efficiencies in the harvest and grain delivery process.  In 2023 we finished our new loadout, enabling new efficiencies out of our feed mill.  As we continue to make changes, we embrace continuous improvement in all that we do.  If you are interested in how we can help your ag production operation, please give us a call, or stop by, we are happy to help and thankful to be a part of Iowa's agribusiness solution!
